Dan + Caitlin

Sunset Marquis Wedding

a two day wedding celebration back in the city where they met and fell in love.

Two years ago we got an email from Caitlin. Her and Dan lived in New York, met in LA, she didn’t plan on wearing white, and they wanted a smaller, nontraditional wedding in the city they fell in love. We all chatted and it felt good, right. We were excited. They were still finalizing their plans so nothing was made official just yet. But then a few months later they emailed again with the decision that they were pushing back the date and they’d reach out again once they figured everything out.

Honestly we weren’t sure if we’d hear from them again. So it’s a good thing we’re not betting people because out of nowhere while we were in the thick of being new parents, bleary eyed and delirious, we got an email from Caitlin that her and Dan eloped. But they wanted to celebrate with their friends and family. And they still wanted to work with us. Back in the city where they met and fell in love—and no she didn’t wear white.

Their wedding celebration ended up being a two night extravaganza. The first night was at the Sunset Marquis Hotel in West Hollywood. A poolside reception, food, drinks, music, and a short ceremony in between. The second night was at ABSteak for a Korean barbecue dinner. When she told us they eloped she said it was the right decision for them and what they planned for their celebration was so right for them too. This was a little different for us but so fun to be a part of.

These two musicians planned a totally nontraditional wedding in Hollywood and we absolutely loved it.

At one point during this wedding we weren’t sure if we were photographing a wedding or a concert, it was perfect.

This one was less rock and roll and more vibes. Perfectly tailored to the couple as every wedding should be.
