Orange County Family Session
While I helped Chrissy change dresses and Joe hung back with Scott watching the sun set, we found out separately just how much they went through for this pregnancy. How they had given up. How they were told it wasn’t possible to have another child. And as soon as they lost hope, they found out that they were having their miracle baby.
We knew going into this maternity session with this family that it was a special one. But having the conversation in person and hearing it from them individually was that much more powerful. We wanted to be sure to capture this family in all their phases, the family that they have happily been for eight years, the family of four that they’re about to become in less than two months, and the love that made them a family.
It’s never about the perfectly posed smiling faces that make a photo for us. It’s about capturing that moment in time, that feeling, to take you back years from now. That’s what makes a photo for us.
We originally had to push back their original session date because of the fires and then on their session date, in October, it was abnormally hot making it a perfect day at the beach for sunbathers. As swimmers slowly started to disperse and the sun slowly went down, these are the moments we shared with this family.
Chrissy admitted they hadn’t done family photos since their son was 2 years old. He’s now 8.
