Franciscan Gardens Wedding
From her first email, she talked about how “as far as my hunny goes he’s hot” and all they cared about their wedding was good photos and tacos, we were excited to meet them. Then after our mountain excursion for their engagement session it was solidified, we were fans of these two.
Months later on their wedding day, as we walked through Franciscan Gardens, she yelled from across the courtyard and skipped towards us with hugs. We spent the morning with her and her bridesmaids just relaxing as they fiddled with their hair and sipped on coffee. She got ready within minutes, doing her own hair and makeup, and looked simply glowing.
You couldn’t wipe the smiles off Michael+Kelly and you know, that was okay with us. When you’re around a couple who loves purely and freely you know it’s going to be a good day. We felt at home with them, making it feel like a Sunday afternoon sitting out on the patio, with some warm tacos and freshly squeezed lemonade, sharing good conversation and hearty laughs.
photo tip for couples: we always work with our couples to set up the wedding day schedule, you can say we’re very hands on to make sure enough time is given for us to do the job we were hired to do. It’s your first time planning a wedding and we’re looking out for you to make sure we are able to give all of ourselves and create the images you deserve. So we like to advise couples to give us three time slots throughout the day to photograph just you two together: the first look, right after the ceremony and the last light around sunset. We went over this with Michael+Kelly and they gave us all the time in the world — they were the ones to even pull us aside during sunset ready for more photos — we were able to breathe into the moments, make images together, go to different locations and in the end they received plenty of images. We are so thankful for them and for couples who work with us on this because really we just want to be able to give the best.
