Bangkok // Chiang Mai // Elephant Sanctuary
There’s a difference between taking a trip and planning a trip. We’re usually more for planning. For Thailand though, we definitely just took a trip and had Emilee plan everything. We were, after all, crashing their vacation so whatever they were doing and wherever they were going, we were there.
We met up with them in Bangkok and after two nights there, we took a short plane ride to Chiang Mai. The same day we did the hot air balloon ride (photos of that here), that afternoon we went to an elephant sanctuary where we got to hug elephants, feed them bananas, take a mud bath with them and clean them off in the river. If interacting elephants is on your bucket list, find a place that treats them ethically – this experience was so much better than riding elephants.
