San Simeon Engagement

we took a little hike, enjoyed a bird show, watched the moon rise, and danced on the beach

Every year they drive up to San Simeon. Usually around his birthday, in the summer. They take a hike along the beach and in the end cool off in the water. It’s one of their favorite spots and we were so excited having them share this with us.

We talked about light sabers and Lego and all the nerdy things. Then at one point during our hike, as we took in the views and marveled at the beauty of our surroundings, seagulls came and made their presence known. As quickly as they came, they were back in their comfy spots by the beach before we knew what happened.

Later on as we frolicked on the beach, we looked up and saw the moon rising over the mountain. Took our breaths away. We instantly stopped and just watched it inch its way upward. We ended, not with jumping into the water, but dancing by the moonlight. It was magical.
