Moorten Botanicals / Palm Springs Windmills / Maternity Session

We straight up love our couples. Honestly we have no chill for them. When these two told us they were expecting one of us (ahem) just started bawling. Honestly. The excitement and love we have for these two are legit. So when they asked us to (1) do their maternity photos and (2) go to Palm Springs for it there was no question.

We started our session at Moorten Botanical Garden. They charge a small entrance fee as well as a nominal fee for photographing there. It’s a cute little garden with a small greenhouse and cactus crawling everywhere. The greenhouse can get a little jammed since it’s so small and can be difficult trying to be respectful of other visitors while also trying to take photos – but it’s definitely worth it. Their hours vary, reducing them during the summer because hello heat! so just make sure to check their website for info.

Since we had to get to the gardens early enough before they closed we had a little gap in between before heading off to the windmills before sunset. Naturally we fit in a little time for some snacks and grub. By the time we were finished we arrived at the windmills with perfect timing and light.

Yes it’s windy near the windmills. Yes it is a 1000% worth it. Yes we love shooting there (as evidenced here and we have yet to blog this wedding but it’s featured here where, you got it, we shot at the windmills too.) You can see just how windy it is in the video we made from this session…but ooop first you have to scroll through all the photos.

Only about a week until baby boy arrives. Can’t wait to meet this little guy who is going to be so so loved.
