The Holidays

Last day of January. We can still talk about the holidays right?

A lot goes on in the month of December for us personally. Other than our favorite season that is Christmas, we also celebrate our wedding anniversary and Lloyd’s birthday. So in between all that we’re decorating for the holidays, shooting our Christmas card (this was last year’s), hosting family and friends, watching all the Christmas movies, making snow angels, going ice skating, eating cookie dough as fast as we can and snuggling. We love December.

Our home during the holiday looks like a mix of a Christmas hoarder and an elf live there. It’s fantastic. And Joe is a great sport through it all, encouraging me to decorate earlier and even agreeing that “Yes more garland would make this room more festive”

We made a little video with all these festivities which you can watch below. Hope you guys enjoy it. Don’t you miss the holidays? Only 328 more days.

Lake Tahoe

On Christmas day we woke up bright and early to drive up to Lake Tahoe where Joe’s family went to celebrate. It was Lloyd’s first time experiencing snow, we were so excited for him to see how he’d like it. He LOVED it.

Lloyd’s first steps in snow. He wasn’t sure what to think of it at first.

We were only there for a night and bringing Lloyd along with us so we needed to find a place that wasn’t too expensive and allowed dogs (that is not always easy friends). But with some luck we found Tamarack Lodge. You guys seriously, this place is so cute! It’s family owned and run and they also have little cabins you can stay in. We only booked a room but it was so cozy we loved it. The grounds also has a dog park area and they’re right across the dog beach too – which obviously we didn’t go to but still we love finding dog friendly places like this. We actually wished we could have stayed there longer and definitely bookmarking it next time we’re up there. So if you like traveling with your furry one and looking for a place we recommend looking into this one!

It took us all day driving up to Lake Tahoe and already getting dark so Lloyd didn’t get to play much the first night. But the next morning he went wild!

Although it didn’t snow while we were up there they had gotten some dusting the days prior making all the tree just so pretty.

The snow was literally glistening. It was so gorgeous.

Trusty Forest our Landcruiser decided it didn’t want to warm us up with the heater (thank goodness for blankets!) but overall he pulled through during this trip.
